The Fortnite Status X page announced that players may have accidentally unsubscribed from Fortnite Crews because of a major button glitch Thursday afternoon.
Hundreds of Fortnite players were denied entry into their game accounts , experienced game-breaking glitches while trying to play and were sometimes unable to connect to the server at all. The Fortnite server outage seemed to dampen around noon when players were steadily gaining access to their accounts. However, a "button bind issue" that was occurring during the outage may have altered fan subscriptions to Fortnite Crews, according to the Fortnite Status page.
What is Fortnite Crews?
Fortnite Crew is a subscription service for Epic Games' battle royale. Players who pay about $12 a month will receive several gifts for their loyalty. This includes 1,000 V-Bucks, the latest Fortnite Crew Pack that comes with an exclusive skin and "at least one" matching accessory among other things.
Did I unsubscribe from Fortnite Crews?
The sprawling Fortnite outage Thursday seemed to affect every aspect of the game, including the button scheme. The Fortnite Status page said a "button bind issue" may have resulted in players unknowingly terminating their own subscriptions "when navigating to the 'Cancellation Info' screen."
"Re-subscribing and selecting a payment method on the same platform you’re subscribed on within your billing window will keep your billing times and Crew status unchanged. You won’t be charged an additional time within your same billing window. If you have questions about your accidentally cancelled subscription, please contact Player Support," the Fortnite Status X page read.
